At its core, serving and being strong means showing up—even when the path ahead isn't clear, and the outcome is uncertain. It means leaning into moments of challenge with resilience and grace.
For those in our Servicing Department, it might look like picking up the phone or replying to an email before that first sip of coffee, knowing that a difficult conversation awaits. In these moments, the “win” isn’t just about resolving the issue—it’s about restoring trust, delivering clarity, and turning a challenge into an opportunity for connection.
This is not a new concept for the Servion team. In fact, it’s something our staff has demonstrated time and time again.
We recognize that we’re navigating a time of fluctuation across the financial services industry. Markets shift. Confidence wavers. One day brings optimism, the next uncertainty. But in the midst of it all, our team continues to show up—stronger, more focused, and more committed than ever.
We asked some of our thought leaders at Servion to share moments when they stayed optimistic, even when things didn’t go their way, or when they knew the road ahead would be anything but smooth:
Brad Crandall, CEO: “Has anyone ever done a landscaping project? If so, what is the hardest part of building a retaining wall or something similar? Getting the foundation level! In the landscaping/retaining wall analogy, once the foundation is set (that is the hard part), we just keep stacking.”
Andrea Larson, Servicing Manager: “Adapt and overcome: A story showcasing resilience and commitment to service. –Over the last couple of months, Servion Mortgage had two back-to-back incoming servicing transfers. A welcome, yet challenging process. It was impressive how the transfer team led by Kathleen Nystrom handled these transfers, and learned from any hitches to ensure the second transfer went smoothly. This team had a “failure is not an option” mentality which is contagious and inspiring!”
These stories are a testament to what it means to serve with strength. They remind us that we keep our balance and focus on our service, our competencies, and our people. At times this may mean stepping back to insure that that everything is level and moving in the right direction and then moving full speed ahead toward the goal. This mindset not only leads to happier members and customers, but also creates real value: stronger relationships, increased revenue, and the deep satisfaction that comes from finding the right solution.
Let’s continue moving forward—together & Servion stronger than ever!
