Staff Profile for Janet Nelson

Janet Nelson serves as collateral solutions manager for Servion Commercial Resources, Inc. (CLR), a division of The Servion Group. 

Janet joined CLR in 2018, bringing with her a diverse background in finance and commercial and residential property. During her tenure Janet has held several roles, including due diligence analyst and supervisor. She assumed her current role in 2019.

As collateral solutions manager, her responsibilities include managing a growing team of professionals who provide collateral, environmental and third-party solutions to credit unions and community banks around the country. Janet’s staff includes talented employees specializing in collateral analysis, environmental review, and evaluations. 

With a focus on process improvement, Janet blends analytical thinking, creative problem solving, and cross-functional team building to increase efficiency and accuracy. Relationships are central to Janet’s and CLR’s approach to business. She works diligently to develop strong, long-term relationships with lenders and internal partners, ultimately leading to better, more satisfying experiences. 

Prior to joining Servion, Janet’s previous roles included team lead of the National Review Department at CoreLogic and senior asset valuation specialist at GMAC ResCap. She has held a Minnesota license as a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser since 2003. 

Janet earned her bachelor’s degree from Augsburg College in 2008. She believes in the power of education and currently serves as an advisor for the Women in Leadership certificate program at Minnesota State University-Mankato.  Outside the office, her hobbies include studying Kenpo karate with her husband, adventure walks with her two 70-pound lap dogs. She and her husband have lived in Blaine, Minnesota since 2010.
